To recover from the recent exam stress the 3eme and 4eme have been doing oral activities this week.
The balloon debate was a great (but noisy!) way to talk about famous people and learn about defending your ideas.
Our various classes chose God, Gandhi, and…Mr Vescovi, our German teacher!
While the rest of the school are hard at work with exams, the primary classes are busy preparing their next production…

« That picture was taken in the summer of ’69. » I had told her from across the room as she fixated her gaze on the one man in the middle of that picture, somewhat puzzled. « His name is Jay Gatsby » I explained. « People always told stories about how he chose to live his life, no-one really knows anything « real » about him though. Some say he was a conman, others a hero. There’s a fine line between love and hate, but he could make you feel both of ’em at once, in the most intense way imaginable. » « Ugh, what baloney » she replied. »

« Saturday morning, I went to the zoo with my friends. It was a beautiful shiny day. I wanted to visit a Gorilla because I’ve never seen one before. So, I rode my bicycle to the gorilla cage. I laughed so hard when I saw my best friend trembling with fear while feeding the Gorilla. The guardian was so funny because he was wearing a pink gorilla shirt. Then, we took a lot of photos with most of the animals in the zoo like giraffes, dolphins, monkeys and even with lions .It was really a grand day at the zoo. »

Me – a couple of marathons, a couple of conferences, a fantastic school trip to Naples, helping my students through the Cambridge and Trinity exams, the 60 year anniversary of Topffer school,…
What are your New Year’s Resolutions?
Mine – use the smartboard more in class, play more music in class, continue finding fun things to do in « Appui » Friday afternoons…. Whatever your hopes and plans I wish you a fantastic 2014, filled with laughter, love, friends,… and some hard work too!
