HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Are you ready to start school again? Choose from the following resolutions or add your own, write them down and give them to Mrs Harris for a joker!

  1. I will reread my lessons every evening

2. I will watch netflix in English

3. I will revise my vocab every day

4. I will change my phone settings to English

5. I will write a diary in English

6. I will put my hand up at least 3 times in every lesson

7. I will reread all my work before giving it to the teacher

8. I will write a grammar checklist before my tests and then write it on the test at the beginning to remember the rules.

9. I wills to go to appui very week

10. I will ask the teacher to explain things I don’t understand

11. With my friends we will message each other in English

Everyone got great results in the vocabulary tests last week so keep up the good work! Your ICD grammar lessons are now on this site so take a look and start doing practice exercises for your tests next week.

THIS WEEK’S JOKER = Write FIVE phrases, each using a word from vocabulary list 2.

Don’t forget it’s the school photos this Tuesday, and if you want an extra « appui » English class for Friday afternoon ask me before Wednesday lunch.

 

C’est La Rentrée!!!

Can’t wait to see you all on Thursday, I just know we’re going to have a brilliant year together so before we start, let’s get a few things clear –

  1. We’re in this together, the whole class is there to help you learn, so ask for help and help others when they need it.

2. I LOVE mistakes! How else can you learn what is right? NEVER,NEVER be afraid of getting anything wrong in my class – the more mistakes you make, the more you learn!

3. Everyone has a second (and third, and fourth… chance!) so if you do something wrong – don’t worry about it, fix it instead! For example if you forget your homework or books then you have two jokers – free excuses where it’s ok to forget stuff. If you need another joker then check out this site or ask me what you need to do to get another one!

FIRST JOKER OR THE YEAR! – Draw a postcard and write a paragraph or two about your holidays and give it to Mrs Harris!

Finally, remember I’m always here for you and ready to help or answer any questions you or your parents have!

Hi everyone, I hope you had a fantastic holiday, I did! For this week’s free joker you need to write four things you think I did in the holidays and four things you think I saw. Here’s a clue:

La Rentrée!

There’s no English word for « la rentrée », so for this week’s joker – create one!

Also remember that you have a vocabulary test on lists 1 to 10 this week so get revising!

For another free joker – the « trim » are coming – describe what you do when you revise, where do you sit? How long to you work before taking a break? Do you read?underline?highlight?take notes? test yourself?
